Satu Anttila

Hi, I'm Satu Anttila, game developer, artist and graphic designer from Finland. I grew up in Central Finland, but I have lived in Turku for many years now.

My dearest video game memories take me back to my childhood. Commodore 64,  Amiga 500 and Playstation entertained me often. Bubble Bobble, Lemmings, Crash Bandicoot, oh the memories! Playing games didn't end up there, but then responsibilities of adults started to take up my time.

Drawing has always been a part of my life. When I was little, I drew pictures of my life happenings and used them in my storytelling. I am mainly self-taught in the field of drawing and painting. I have studied Game and 3D production, Media Services and Animal Care. Despite my love for animals, I didn't end up working with them, but by chance I started making art under the business name Story Art in 2009. I drew portraits of people and pets and I made illustrations and pet-themed craft products. Entrepreneurship ended in 2013.

Then the winds took me to working in a flower nursery for five years. I liked working with flowers because, as a gardeners daughter, I grew up surrounded by flowers and I worked at our summer flower nursery for many summers. But I didn't forget the arts and now I'm back making art and graphic design.

I believe in the power of joy and may the force of laughter be with us.
I love colors. Bright and playful, but also muted and soothingly earthy colors. Nature, mystical things and fantasy have always fascinated me. I get ideas and inspiration from nature, animals, people, music and the coincidences that happens around me.
